Coach. Strategist. Mentor. Consultant.

There are so many different names for people who work with individuals / businesses to help them reach their potential…how do we know what the differences are, which one is best for us and what to look for?

When I opened up my case study, I called my work Creative Coaching.  I was thinking of it as an extension of the work I was already doing in the creative realm.  It didn’t take long for me to start thinking that it wasn’t a perfect fit.  I was being asked what I did and floundering over how to describe it.  I was lucky enough to have a call with Eva Gossenreiter from The Flow Principal who suggested that I was more of a strategist than a coach.

It’s not easy to find set definitions for each of these titles but I have come to define a strategist as one who clarifies goals and then comes up with a plan to get you there with the resources you’ve got.  This article is a good read if you want more information.

If you are looking for someone to help you work out what you really want to achieve, and then work with you to create a personalised recipe for success, with all the necessary steps broken down into easy to complete tasks, a strategist is the one for you.
